The exterior access panel is insulated, watertight, and is constructed with a an exposed galvanized steel continuous hinge. The frame and door of this American Made 36" x 24" exterior access door is constructed from 18 gauge galvannealed steel, and finished with a prime coated-white enamel. All Karp MX model doors are insulated with 2.25" thick polystyrene ( 5.0 R-value ), and remain watertight due to a 3/8" wide x 1/8" thick closed cell neoprene gasketing between the frame and the door. All MX model doors swing out due to a galvanized steel exposed continuous hinge. Some framing is required for installation of Model MX doors, they have an exposed 1" flange that surrounds the perimeter of the 36" x 24" door on all sides.
