The exterior access panel is insulated, watertight, and is constructed with a an exposed stainless steel continuous hinge. From Industrial Hardware and Specialties is the Karp MX 24 in. x 24 in. Exterior Wall Access Door-Karp Rim Cylinder With Night Latch From Stainless Steel. The frame and door of this American Made 24" x 24" exterior access door is constructed from 18 gauge Type 304 Stainless Steel with a brushed finish. All Karp MX model doors are insulated with 2.25" thick polystyrene ( 5.0 R-value ), and remain watertight due to a 3/8" wide x 1/8" thick closed cell neoprene gasketing between the frame and the door. All MX model doors swing out due to a stainless steel exposed continuous hinge. Some framing is required for installation of Model MX doors, they have an exposed 1" flange that surrounds the perimeter of the 24" x 24" door on all sides.
